The Envisagers

Status: Leadership scattered, ideology stubbornly persists (as ideology does) Key Members: Shai (high priestess, professionally hard to keep caught), Elias (architect, also — inconveniently — Kael’s father), Jaro (former mole)

Overview

The cult that started this whole mess: they drugged and kidnapped the party in the campaign’s opening act, dragging everyone down into a Bavland dungeon to run rituals meant to summon power and put their own initiates in genuine danger. This is, as far as the wiki’s records go, ground zero — the origin point tangled up with how the party’s spren bonds actually began. Every other faction on this page is, in some sense, downstream of what happened in that dungeon.

History with the Party

  • Opening arc: the party fought their way out of the Envisager dungeon outright, killing the priest guards and tearing apart the ritual hall on the way. Not a subtle exit.
  • Shai escaped that initial confrontation and has had the poor manners to keep resurfacing ever since.
  • Kael’s own father, Elias, turned out to be a mastermind behind the ritual site — the kind of family reveal that makes holiday dinners considerably more complicated.
  • Jaro was unmasked as a longtime embedded agent, tracking Kael specifically, the entire time everyone thought he was just around.
  • Nale deputized the party to go hunt down the Envisagers’ remaining hideouts — Dumadari, Kharbranth, Yulay — turning the group that once fled this cult’s dungeon into the people now kicking down its doors.
