Background
Jarro grew up in the Reshi Isles where he developed the stereotypical island boy personality. He is incredibly laid back, chill, and wants to spread good vibes wherever he goes. When he was in his early teens, his family moved to Iri, where at some point he converted and began worshiping the one.
Jarro’s connection with his religion intensified and he began a personal quest to experience things that the One had never experienced, which included some pretty crazy things. When Jarro enters a situation he frequently would ask himself, “what could I do here that the one has never experienced?”
At some point during his time in Iri he was recruited to train with the sword. He eventually became one of the greatest dualists in Iri, and was recruited to fight in the Veden armies. Not much is known about his time in the Veden armies, but he was wildly successful as a warrior in those wars and eventually Jarro won a shardblade, although he hasn’t divulged how he won that shardblade.
Jarro seems to have some trauma with this shardblade, as he told Kael that he vowed never to use that blade again, and that it isn’t something that he can just give away.
Eventually Jarro was recruited to join the Envisagers, but it seems Jarro joined up to experience a sense of family. He called Elias “his family” and refused to fight against them at one point.
Campaign Notes
The party met Jarro at the Envisagers hideout in Bavland. They thought they were saving a bruised, battered, victim, but unbeknownst to them, he was asked by Elias and Shai to spy on the party and to stick with them.
After he was rescued from that hideout, he accompanied the party throughout their adventures and has been present for most of their shenanigans.
When the party arrived in Kharbranth he pulled Kael aside and told them that he had knowledge of where the Envisagers hideout was in Kharbranth. In reality, he was delivering Kael to his father, and he stood guard at the door to prevent Kael from escaping. Kael made several impassioned speeches to Jarro and convinced him to abandon his Envisager family to help him.
As Elias approached his son, ready to run him through with his shardblade, Jarro spoke the first ideal of the Knights Radiant as and elsecaller and bonded an Inkspren named Sludge. He summoned his shardblade and defended Kael from death. Jarro then stabbed Elias through the chest with his shardblade, ending the leader of the Envsiagers forever.
Jarro entered into a relationship with Lia after Nucko’s burning down of the button museum in Kharbranth. While trying to help Lia figure out who burned down the museum, Jarro stumbled into the party in the basement of the Palanaeum. He helped the party take down Dahl and Yelig-Nar including making a clutch transformation of one of Dahl’s bombs into water. During the battle Yelig-Nar crushed his knee and tore several ligaments in his knee.
Since the Envisagers fight and the fight in the Palanaeum basement, Jarro has been oddly quiet. He’s spent a lot of time with Lia in the hospital while she recovers, and has spent a little time helping Theren train with the sword, although that was pretty short lived. When the party left to do their palace heist, they asked Jarro to be a contingency and come rescue them if they weren’t back by the following morning.
