New Natan

Type: Port city Claim to fame: Reunions, favors, and meteorites, roughly in that order Status quo, historically: Interrupted

Overview

New Natan exists on this wiki for exactly one reason: it’s where the party sat back down across a table from Sebarial and discovered that “cashing in outstanding favors” is never as simple as it sounds when the man holding your markers is Sebarial. Old business got settled at the Glyph Pool tavern over drinks with Sebarial and a man named Jama, and by the end of the sit-down Gavlin had signed on to Sebarial’s private research crew — splitting off from the rest of the party to go do science for a demigod, which in hindsight is not the sort of internship anyone should have let him take unsupervised.

The city itself never got much more characterization than “the place where that happened,” because the plot didn’t give it the chance: barely had the ink dried on Gavlin’s contract before a meteorite came down just outside the walls and everyone’s evening got considerably more complicated.

Key Events

  • The sit-down at the Glyph Pool tavern with Sebarial and Jama — old debts, new obligations.
  • Gavlin accepts Sebarial’s private research contract and peels off from the party.
  • A meteorite ambush kicks off just outside the city, because subtlety was never really Sebarial’s style. (Killing gods rarely is.)
