Vedenar

Type: Veden capital Personal significance: Theren’s hometown — and the place his family’s name got dragged through the mud Later became: A full civil war

Overview

Vedenar is the Veden capital, and for Theren it was never just another city on the map — it’s where he learned his own family had been declared traitors to the crown, and where he found out his father had been murdered rather than simply fallen out of favor. That’s not the kind of thing a person walks away from unchanged, and Theren didn’t.

The party’s early business here was more straightforward: a dockside heist to steal the ship Wind’s Favor, fought out under an ambush from Marren with the tide practically still coming in. Vedenar came back around later for something much bigger — a full-blown civil war, with the party helping Highprince Valam win it through actual siege warfare and wall-breaching, the kind of large-scale violence that doesn’t leave much room for subtlety. It’s also where Theren’s Thrill Champion arc really took shape — grief and a warrior’s rage finding somewhere to go.

Theren didn’t survive the campaign. Vedenar is where a lot of the reasons he carried that rage in the first place actually started.
