Vesper (“Blue”)
Status: Alive. No longer undercover, no longer embedded, no longer anyone’s asset but her own. Affiliation: The Ghostbloods — technically. In practice, she and Nucko are both actively trying to burn the place down from within.
Overview
Vesper spent a long stretch of this campaign hiding in plain sight as “Blue,” a captive crew hand aboard Sebarial’s ship — a cover so deliberate she let herself get captured on purpose, purely so she’d have a reason to smuggle Nucko’s companion doll, Pip, back to him. That’s the kind of tradecraft that makes for a good handler and a genuinely complicated love story: Nucko’s high-ranking Ghostblood contact and romantic interest, embedded deep enough inside the very crew holding him captive that nobody clocked her for months.
That chapter is over now. With Sebarial dead and Nucko formally departed from the party to hunt down the people who murdered his parents and dismantle the Ghostbloods from the inside, Vesper went with him. She’s no longer anyone’s plant, no longer stationed inside anyone’s war camp, and no longer playing a captive for cover. She’s just walking the road with Nucko now, toward the same fight.
Key Moments
- Intercepted and hid an elite informant inside Sebarial’s War Camp — someone who holds the identities of the Ghostbloods responsible for murdering Nucko’s parents. Where that informant ended up after her departure is, as of this writing, an open question.
- Warned Nucko that Mraize was looking for him, at real personal risk to her cover.
- Left with Nucko when he departed the party, trading her double life inside Sebarial’s crew for an open one on the road, hunting the same people who orphaned him.
